The StartHUB App, dedicated to the startups of Bangalore (Android, WP, iOS) was launched by TiE Bangalore on June 18th 2015, during Microsoft Ventures India’s ThinkNext event.
In only 3 weeks, they’ve had an awesome response. The number of sign ups and people posting content on the app is mind-blowing. How did they achieve such a feat?
Angad Singh Gill, the Sr. Executive – Marketing & Communications at TiE Bangalore agreed to share some insights into their launch strategy with me.
1. We sent a mail to all our members informing them about the launch.
This is the main reason behind the peak of sign ups on July 6th 2015 (see sign up chart).
2. We blogged about it and shared the post on our social media channels.
3. We changed the cover photo of our FB page to the app logo.
4. We inform attendees about the app at all our events.
5. Everybody in the office changed their signature to add links to download the app. My signature for example:
